  • Donald Trump’s social media director, Dan Scavino, used Twitter to threaten Congressman Justin Amash with a primary challenge. Amash is a member of the House Freedom Caucus. The GOP establishment has tried to take down Amash before, which puts Trump in the company of the people he claims to oppose. Allahpundit writes: “Sounds like the president’s planning to fight a two-front war against the left and right in 2018. Just what you’d expect a man with the massive political capital that comes with a 41 percent job approval rating to do.” You can contribute to Amash’s re-election campaign here.

  • Andrew McCarthy writes that it was sensible of Michael Flynn to seek immunity from prosecution before testifying about Russian involvement in the 2016 election given the political environment:

    The object of the Left’s game is to nullify Trump’s presidency, whether by impeachment or withering rebuke. The best way to get there is to demonize his associates, such that they are criminals and their crimes are his crimes. On that list, it doesn’t get higher than Mike Flynn.

  • Iraq’s air force claims it killed ISIS’ second-in-command, Ayad al-Jumaili, in an air strike near the Syrian border.

  • Russia is reportedly nearing production of its 3M22 Zircon hypersonic missile, which has a 250 mile range and can travel at up to 4,600 miles per hour.

  • Protesters started fires in Paraguay’s Congress after the country’s Senate held a secret vote to amend the constitution and enable President Horacio Cartes to run for re-election. Paraguay’s constitution, adopted in 1992, only allowed a single term for the president.
