Brett Kavanaugh, Raymond Kethledge, and Amy Coney Barrett are said to be the finalists. Conservative media is laying into Kavanaugh’s judicial record, and it will be interesting to see if that has any effect whatsoever on Trump’s decision making.

California can’t prohibit companies from allowing federal immigration officials onto their property without a warrant. The judge allowed two other new California laws to stand — one requires the state to review federal detention facilities for immigrants, and the other prevents local law enforcement agencies from providing information on jail inmates to federal immigration agents. The latter is intended to make it impossible for federal immigration agencies to issue detention orders for immigrants being released from local jails.
