J.D. Rucker writes on the founding of the Federalist Party:
If the original Federalist Party leaders were around, they would be fighting the exact same battle from the opposite perspective. Instead of fighting for federal power, they would be fighting for the same checks and balances they fought for in the 18th century, only this time they would be fighting against the overreach and political manipulations that have turned Washington DC into a cesspool of self-serving powermongers.
As we form the new Federalist Party, we do so with a full awareness that our mission is very different from their mission. The goal of balance remains the same, but achieving that goal can only happen by systematically reducing the power of the federal government to give states the equal footing they need to prevent tyranny. The original goal was to promote the Constitution. Our goal is to defend it. The original party relied on bankers and the political elite. Our party will rely on the grassroots and building a new class of righteous leaders.
