Oklahoma’s legislature passed a bill that denies medical licenses to doctors who perform abortions, which essentially bans abortions.

The U.S. Senate tabled Mike Lee’s amendment to the Department of Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill that would have blocked the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) regulations. Instead they voted for a toothless amendment by Susan Collins that prohibits HUD from dictating local zoning regulations. HUD doesn’t do that directly – instead it threatens to withhold federal funds until it thinks a municipality has done enough to arrange the racial mix that HUD deems appropriate for the municipality’s neighborhoods.

Federal district court judge Andrew Hanen blasted Department of Justice lawyers for lying to him in writing and in court regarding President Obama’s DAPA and DACA programs. He ordered the Department of Justice to provide him a list of every illegal immigrant who benefited from the programs in the 26 states that are suing to stop DAPA, and he’s requiring Department of Justice lawyers who work in those states to attend legal ethics training.

New York City will charge people and businesses with harassment if they refuse to use the pronouns preferred by “gender non-conforming people,” i.e. people must use made-up words like ze instead of him/her. Businesses can be held liable for harassment if their patrons intentionally use the “wrong” pronoun, opening them up to $250,000 penalties.
