A Swiss biotech company, Genoma, displayed a large ad in Madrid for its Down syndrome prenatal test that featured a photo of a young girl with Down syndrome. The abortion rate in Spain for babies with Down syndrome is 95%, so basically the ad was asking, “You don’t want this, do you?”
They also used the photo without the permission of the girl’s parents. Eventually Genoma took the ad down and apologized.
